The super-hip concept for Sophie & Sophie, a low calorie wine-based drink exclusively for women, was developed by advertising agency THEY of Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

Which woman does not recognize the feeling? After a night on the town the painful bill is presented: You don't like to drink beer all night, the house-wines are horrible, the sweet pre-mixes hurt your teeth and hard liquor is not your scene.

Pieter Keldermans, the founder of Natural Wines Co, was shocked to hear that the three daughters -all in their twenties- of his business partner were resorting to drinking Bacardi Breezer or pure whiskies when going out. This can't be right, he thought, and together with his ad agency developed this super-hip concept especially for young women in the age group of 18+

Sophie & Sophie is a low-calories & low-alcohol drink made of rosé wines from Mediterranean Spain. At 5,5% alcohol by volume it contains half the alcohol as compared to traditional wines. And 40% less calories! The word "Wine Refresher" is a good description.

One need not be ashamed to be seen with a bottle: The styling and design are fantastic!
Sophie and Sophie stand for two independent young women with style. They party together, are broad-minded, except when it comes to men who make a nuisance of themselves. Girls with an attitude, without being arrogant.

Wine traditionally is an "old-man-with-cigar" product. Sophie & Sophie breaks away from this image. It is a solution for women who now know what to expect when they order their drink. And for club-owners, who can now show that they care about the female clients, because they offer a drink especially designed for them.

Female vibes.

The two young women can communicate the brand very effectively. But without preaching.
The girls give their opinion about consuming alcohol: "Maintain your grace, don't get misty at the end of the evening and leave with the wrong male. Be yourself, not a drunken version of yourself." The idea is to create a we-are-amongst-ourselves feeling. Interestingly enough, women decide where to go, but the clubs are dominated by men.
Sophie & Sophie should not be interpreted as a successor to the sweet pre-mixed drinks. It is meant as a thirst-quencher and contains no added sugars!
